WSDC?
Do you keep seeing WSDC and have no idea what that means? Here are a couple of the important points.
What is the WSDC?
The WSDC, or World Swing Dance Council, is an organization that establishes rules and guidelines for West Coast Swing competitions around the world.
Check out their website at https://www.worldsdc.com/ for more details.
What does WSDC Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, All Stars, Champions mean?
The WSDC tracks and assigns competitors points from making finals and placing in WSDC Jack & Jill divisions. The levels are defined by the WSDC according to the number of points a competitor has. Those definitions can be found in the rules on their website
I haven’t competed before…what division do I belong in?
Everyone starts in WSDC Novice regardless of dance experience, even if you consider yourself to be a more advanced social dancer. We also offer a Non-WSDC Newbie division that competitors with no WSDC points are welcome to enter in addition to or instead of the WSDC Novice division.
What is a WSDC number?
Any competitor with 1 or more WSDC points will be assigned a WSDC number for tracking their points and progress.
